An anti-tax proponent of the view that taxation has no basis in law, also known as de-taxers or tax protesters, was recently jailed in Ontario for 60 days for failure to file tax returns. All courts have consistently rejected the arguments that tax returns are not required, and all tax protesters who have gone to court have been convicted and sentenced to fines and sometime jail terms for income tax evasion.
