Juan Carlos Díaz García joined Rotfleisch & Samulovitch P.C. (Taxpage.com) as an Articling Student in August 2025, bringing more than 15 years of combined experience in tax law from Colombia and Canada. Prior to articling, he worked in Bogotá with Colombia’s National Tax and Customs Authority (DIAN) and later with leading law and accounting firms, advising domestic and multinational clients on cross-border transactions, corporate tax planning, and regulatory compliance. More recently in Toronto, he gained further experience in Bay Street tax practice, focusing on international tax structuring, transfer pricing, and Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) risk management.

Juan Carlos holds an LL.B. from Universidad Externado de Colombia and 2 LL.M. degrees in Taxation — from Osgoode Hall Law School (Canadian Common Law & Taxation) and the University of Florida Levin College of Law (International Taxation). Fluent in English and Spanish, he is well-positioned to engage with complex and global tax matters.

Motivated by an early experience assisting his family through a tax assessment, Juan Carlos has long been drawn to helping taxpayers navigate tax audits, appeals, and compliance challenges. During articling, he has contributed to RBOD indexing, voluntary disclosure packages, CRA tax audit responses, tax case commentaries, and litigation support for Tax Court matters. He aims to expand his experience in litigation procedure, corporate tax, GST/HST, and international tax before completing his term.

Outside the office, Juan Carlos enjoys Toronto’s sports and cultural community, attending Blue Jays games, participating in NCA mentorship events, and preparing for the Solicitor licensing exam.
