If you are reporting self employment your deadline for filing your 2016 T1 return is June 15, 2017. If you don’t file on time you are subject to an immediate late filing tax penalty of a minimum of 5% of taxes owing. The late filing tax penalty can increase if you have filed your T1 return late in previous years.
