In what is now a familiar story, 2 more tax protesters, Robert Dale Steinkey, 60, and his wife Terry Lynn Steinkey, 63, from Grande Prairie, Alberta, have been found guilty of tax evasion and sentenced to a fine and conditional jail sentences of 22 and 18 months. The Alberta couple have been fined almost half a million dollars after they pled guilty in December 2015 to evading $486,000 in federal income tax in 2007 and 2008. The tax protesters belonged to the Paradigm Education Group, an organization that showed people how to structure their affairs to avoid paying taxes by declaring themselves “natural persons,” a concept that has been rejected by every court that has examined it.The Paradigm founder, Russell Porisky, was sentenced to five-and-a-half years in jail.
